{Arnaldo & Kim | Family}

This shoot was so fun! You never know how your pictures are gonna turn out when working with kids. Things could get crazy!
The first shoot I ever did with this family was back in 2010 when the boys were tiny and no little sister. It's crazy to see how they've changed in the last three years.
Kim had such a great idea of everyone wearing pj's for the Christmas shoot and it was the best!
I also managed to take some pictures of the baby, so I hope you enjoy!

{The Jacobsen's | Family}

Taking pictures of my friends family's is the best! Watching everyone's interaction with each other helps me learn more about them than anything else. After about 10 minutes with their family, I was enjoying my time and had a blast capturing their time together. I especially loved how close all the siblings are. Reminds me of my brother and sister :)
Here are some of my faves from our day together. Enjoy!

{Reuben & Vivian | Family}

The last three months of the year is the best time for many reasons.
The weather (slightly) changes, girls start wearing boots, and families start contacting me for shoots. And I love family shoots! Reuben and Vivian's family was no different. I've known Reuben since high school, so I was thrilled when he asked me to photograph his engagement five years ago. You can only imagine my excitement when they contacted me about his family session.
Their little kids were so adorable in their costumes, I just couldn't stop taking pictures of them!
Here are some of my faves from the day!
Enjoy :)

1 year (and some months) later

So March of 2012 was the last time I updated my blog.
Wow.
The only explanation I can give is that teaching has gotten in the way and that's ok. Teaching is my first love and if everything else nearly falls to the wayside, then I know that I'm giving my students everything I can. :) However, that doesn't mean I didn't get a chance to photograph some big moments this past year, it only means I haven't blogged them. Does that make sense? I hope so! I'm terrible at blogging...

It's been a crazy year, but I've had fun! I got to travel and try some new things,  personally and in teaching/photography. I'm going to attempt to bring you up to date with all of the photo sessions and life moments I've had the privilege to be apart of over the next couple blog posts and I hope you enjoy!

I'm going to showcase three pictures that basically wraps up my year. Just three pictures.

So let's start with...TEACHING!
This is my beautiful classroom the week I moved in :) Nothing short of a hot mess. Last year, I taught 6th grade in a class that once belonged to the crazy teacher on campus. This year I moved to the 8th grade. The closet was such a mess from the previous teacher that my class looked like this the whole first week back for teachers. Today, that closet is my pride and joy!

Next, my favorite part of the year...
Isn't he precious???????
My baby nephew was born in May 2012 and just turned a year old :) I love his little face! Being an aunt has been quite an adventure even though he lives a few states away. Funny how someone can be all you think of when they weren't even part of your life a year ago.

The last picture to sum up my year is basically about my students but I can't show you their photos since I'll be breaking 100 different laws. My students drove me up a wall, made me laugh and kept me on my toes every second they were with me. I'll miss my babies as they start high school in a few months. This is my classroom as I left for summer vacation in June. Clean, organized, and ready for me to return in August.

This year was unlike any I've had before, but it'll definitely go down as one of the bests :)

{Teresa & Terrell | Family}

Families are some of my favorite people to work with because you literally don't know what's going to happen. Especially when small children are involved. I love it. Kids can be so unpredictable. As a photographer, I've learned 2 very important lessons with kids. When they're around, let them be themselves and keep taking pictures.

When Teresa won the the free engagement session at the Bridal Expo in September, she asked me if I could do a family shoot instead since she and her fiance did not have any photos with his daughter. Of course I said yes! We brought a few props to my favorite new location, Lake Hollingsworth, and let little Destiny steal the show :)

{Outtakes: Piccinelli Family | Orlando, FL}

Ok so this is my first ever "Outtakes" post and, of course, it would be my family! I had so much taking pictures of that I just had to put up some more. These are the photos that didn't make it to the first post, but are definitely some more faves! Anyone who has tried to take pictures of kids will understand me when I say, "kids are so unpredictable." :)

I believe the bottom picture was taken right after one of the boys poked the other one in the eye in this friendly game of tug-on-dad's-shoulder.

{Piccinelli Family | Orlando, FL}

Ok here is the blog I've been excited to post since the photo shoot! My cousin and I have been trying to schedule family photos for months now. She finally caught me right before I took my final teacher certification tests and finishing my English class (both of which I passed! YAY!). I couldn't believe how big the boys have gotten. They were so much fun to hang out with and definitely unpredictable! Here are a few of my faves of the day.
Enjoy!

I once took this little one to the Museum of Atlanta when he was about 5 months old. THAT'S a good story! Haha!

Thank you so much guys! I love you :)
